There are many ways to strengthen our visualization techniques, and one way is by doing the right kind of exercises as opposed to the wrong ones. If you are a beginner, there is a lot you can learn from exercising not only your visualizations but from the benefits of our mind when it possesses a certain kind of strength that we have never experienced before. For example, did you know that when you spend just a few minutes a day on visualization exercises you can alter your reality, achieve a mental state of peace and harmony or improve your self-confidence? Correctly doing visualization exercises will increase or improve any aspect of your life that you wish it too, and by devoting time on a regular basis to these exercises, you wont have any trouble living out your dreams quickly, easily, and permanently.
For many beginner students to the school of creativity, visualizations can best work when starting with a simple image to get the point across. For example, if you have a dream of turning your $25,000 a year salary into a $1,000,000 one, it may be hard for your mind to believe that long enough for your subconscious to grab hold of it as reality. Instead, by starting with a smaller, more realistic goal, you can test the waters of your imagination, creativity and learn the ropes of visualization more easily. By trying some simple visualization exercises of symbols, your mind will begin to grasp and trigger an energy; thus, resulting in action.
There is an easy and effective visualization exercise thats perfect for any beginner. Its not complex; instead it offers a way to grasp the idea of visualizations without going too much into detail and a perfect choice for those who want to dive into the power of visualization slowly. This particular exercise, known to some as The Lighthouse, offers a way for your inner thoughts and feelings to change. Its simple and to the point, and a great way to experiment with the power of your imagination. First, close your eyes and sit in a comfortable, dimly lit area of your home, office or personal space thats comfortable to you. Imagine that you are out at sea, on a ship and all around you is darkness. The wind is blowing fiercly, the ocean is splashing over you and the boat and you cant see a thing. Youre out in the middle of the ocean not knowing which way to steer or which direction your boat is turning.
Then, finally in the far off distance you see a moving light. Its dim but at the same time you can see it shining and leading you to safety. Its a lighthouse, and now you know where to steer your boat. You arent the only one this lighthouse has saved by its radiance, but instead one of the many. Now you know where to steer. Concentrate on the lighthouse and despite everything around it being pitch black, with the wind racing past you and the raging waves splashing upon your skin, you stay focused on the lighthouse. Dont take your eyes off the lighthouse until you arrive. Slowly let go of this visualization, but keep a sense of strength and determination. The symbol of the lighthouse isnt just part of a creative visualization but it creates a new power of the psyche. It allows us to change our determinations and thus, change our destiny.
Another easy exercise that works well at improving your visualization abilities is The Butterfly. By focusing on the details on this visualization, you can take your imagination to new heights. Imagine a caterpillar. Imagine as many details as you can, such as how he looks crawling on the branch, eating on the tree, etc. Now imagine you are the caterpillar inside the cocoon. You are resting in a beautiful, warm transformation that is currently taking place. As the cocoon begins to break, you feel light come on your body and realize that while you may not know whats happening to you, everything is going to be ok. You stretch your new wings and realizing you can fly, you land on a field of blooming flowers of every color. You land on one, then on another and another. Each flower has its own essence, being, color and scent. Now, take the time to enjoy being a butterfly. What do you see? Experience? Feel?
